I was saddened to hear of Graham’s death. I will always remember the day we sat at Nottingham station on our way to Coventry putting the football world to rights and Leeds United especially only to watch the train leaving the end of the platform without us. An unlikely pair of joggers then had to “run” up the stairs to the taxi rank and subsequently pay £25 taxi fare to meet our connection at Derby. We laughed about this many times during our regular Friday lunchtime meetings. The purpose of such was to discuss, as Secretary & Chairman, all things Nottingham Whites. However more often than not the drink took over and we both had forgotten what we were meeting for in the first place.
Without Graham’s vision there would never have been a Members Club in Nottingham. Although many today’s membership had never met Graham I feel that they have so much to thank him for and I hope the club and it’s membership remains strong for many years to come. That’s was Graham’s ideal.
